在中国传统文化中，龙是吉祥的象征，神龙现身则风调雨顺，五谷丰登。几千年来，中华民族都将自己称为“龙的传人”。2000年既是龙年，又是新千年的第一年，因此被认为是非比寻常的一年，也有人称之为“龙禧千年”。
2000年的春晚共有15位主持人，阵容空前强大，打破了春晚此前的历史记录。
这一年的晚会由章子怡打头阵，那时的她先后主演了《我的父亲母亲》、《卧虎藏龙》等享誉国际的影片。作为“龙禧千年”第一个开唱的女星，章子怡不仅代表着新生代演员的希望，更是代表着大家对于新世纪的期盼。

#2005# 千手观音
说到00年代的春晚精彩瞬间，就不得不提2005年的《千手观音》。该节目一出，瞬间惊艳众人。21位聋哑演员将“千手观音”演绎得惟妙惟肖、美轮美奂，营造出层出不穷、千变万化的视觉冲击力。
在春晚舞台走红后，舞蹈《千手观音》还走出国门，一路红到了海外。2013年9月，联合国邮政部门发行了一套反映残疾人艺术的邮票，其中一张采用的就是“千手观音”的舞台照。

2008年，全国多地遭遇百年难遇的雪灾。
那一年的春晚，众多知名主持人与演艺圈明星深情朗诵《温暖2008》，向因冰雪灾害不能回家过年的人们致以安慰和鼓舞。随后，一首温暖的《大雪无情人有情》献给了雪灾的受害者和所有的救援人员。
微博的一项调查显示，在当年春晚的歌舞类节目中，周杰伦的《青花瓷》最受网友欢迎，其次是S.H.E的《中国话》与费玉清演唱的《千里之外》。
In 2008, many parts of China encountered unexpected severe snowfalls in decades while a special disaster relief poetry recital "Warm 2008" was added to the gala.
Some prominent Chinese TV hosts and hostesses, actors, and actresses took part in the poetry recital, which was expected to send comfort and concern to the stranded travelers on their way home. Followed the poetry recital, a special song was also devoted to the victims and rescuers of the snowstorms.
